| 25 June 2008 :Snap-on Diagnostics, world leaders in service equipment for vehicle air conditioning systems, has announced that two of its top-of-the-range Sun KoolKare Blizzard air conditioning recycling centres have been installed at The Honda Institute Training Centre specifically for the training of all Honda technicians on the new air con F-Gas regulations which are currently being phased in.
The Honda Institute is a world class training facility based at Colnbrook, near Slough in Berkshire. It provides personal development programmes for the 10,000 people within the Honda (UK)’s three franchised networks of cars, motorcycles and power equipment. All Honda employees attend The Institute for regular practical and theory training.
The new air con regulations require that at least one person in every workshop must have a Refrigerant License in order to work on the ‘gas’ aspects of car air conditioning. All 1,008 Honda technicians are in process of attending a one-day course utilising the Snap-on Blizzards at The Honda Institute which includes both practical and theory testing. They will then receive certification from Honda that they are fully entitled to handle air con refrigerant.
Designed to incorporate all the benefits of today’s latest technology, the Sun KoolKare Blizzard is a true single-pass recycling system, which removes air and moisture from the vehicle air conditioning system and also checks the system for leaks. The easy to use controls and menu-driven prompts guide the operator through a step-by-step programme to carry out a fully automatic recovery, vacuum, recycle and recharge sequence, or any of the functions separately.
“We are clear brand leaders in the UK air conditioning market with a market share of well over 35%,” says Helen Taylor, UK Marketing Manager for Snap-on Diagnostics. “To ensure that all Honda technicians are trained on the very latest cutting-edge technology The Honda Institute replaced their existing air con equipment and brought in the two Sun KoolKare Blizzards for this purpose. We have had a long and successful relationship with Honda in the past and have been delighted to provide the ideal product for their current air con training purposes.”
