SNAP-ON ANNOUNCES SPONSORSHIP DEAL WITH LE MANS WINNERS ASTON MARTIN RACING

03.07.2008: Snap-on Tools, brand leader in tools, tool storage and diagnostic equipment for the automotive market, has announced a three year sponsorship deal with Aston Martin Racing, victorious in the GT1 class at the recent Le Mans 24 Hours endurance race.

The 009 Aston Martin Racing DBR9, driven by David Brabham, Antonio Garcia and Darren Turner – resplendent in its iconic Gulf livery (pictured) – took the Le Mans specialist class victory for sports cars which are based closely on their road-going equivalents. This was the second consecutive victory for Aston Martin Racing in the GT1 Class.

“We were delighted to have been able to announce just before Le Mans our three year partnership with Aston Martin Racing,” says Terry Barcham, Managing Director of Snap-on Tools. “We see this partnership with such an iconic marque as clearly adding value to the Snap-on brand.”

“Aston Martin Racing’s exhilarating success at this year’s Le Mans gave us particular pleasure. There is no doubt that we benefited considerably from the extensive television and press exposure and we look forward to a successful and mutually beneficial partnership.”

George Howard-Chappell, Aston Martin Racing team principal, said: “When you are working on a racing car in the heat of competition for 24 hours, you want to be sure that you have the best tools to hand. That’s why, if you open up the tool box of any of our race technicians you’ll find them full of Snap-on equipment.”
