| 28 April 2009: Snap-on, world leaders in diagnostic equipment and service solutions for vehicle air conditioning systems, has announced the introduction of its new 2009 model top-of-the-range Sun KoolKare recycling centre – the KoolKare Blizzard Pro.
Designed to incorporate all the benefits of today’s latest technology, the 2009 model Sun KoolKare Blizzard Pro is an automatic single-pass recycling system, which removes air and moisture from the vehicle air conditioning system and also checks the system for leaks. Changes to the new KoolKare design have taken into account customer demand. The new KoolKare Blizzard Pro deals with today’s sophisticated vehicle air conditioning and climate control systems with easy-to-use functions and user-friendly software programmes. These allow the technician to follow a step-by-step sequence to ensure the most complete professional and profitable service procedures.
The new KoolKare Blizzard Pro incorporates three important new features in addition to those in the current Blizzard model – Advanced Diagnostics Function, KoolKlean System and Nitrogen Leak Check.
From the technician’s point of view, the most exciting of these features in terms of its ability to provide added value to customers is the KoolKlean System. It is the only complete air conditioning service 2-in-1 charging and purification system on the market. It basically cleans all the allergens and bacteria, which cause unpleasant odours out of a car, and leaves the car fresh, providing a real noticeable difference to the driver. Operation is fully controlled by the air conditioning charging station, no operator intervention is required and a complete service is completed in 15 to 20 minutes.
The new advanced diagnostics function includes a fully integrated diagnostic option which measures high and low pressures, the ambient temperature, the air conditioning temperature itself, shows whether the air conditioning compressor is on or off and at the end generates a full diagnostic report.
The new Nitrogen Leak Check ensures no loss of refrigerant to the atmosphere. As nitrogen is non-polluting it can be vented to the atmosphere once the test has been completed. The leak check is also cheaper using nitrogen than with refrigerant gas. The nitrogen check itself is fast and fully automatic and can be used on any air conditioning system.
“The new 2009 model KoolKare Blizzard Pro has been specifically designed to be as flexible and as adaptable as possible while at the same time being potentially very profitable to the UK trade,” says Helen Taylor, UK Marketing Manager of Snap-on Diagnostics. “We are already clear brand leaders in the UK air conditioning service market with more than 35% market share. The 2009 model KoolKare Blizzard Pro represents another major technological step forward in a sector which continues to offer enormous potential to today’s workshops and garages.”
Editor’s Note: Copies of Snap-on Diagnostics completely updated comprehensive Sun Guide to Air Conditioning are still available. For both existing suppliers of air conditioning servicing or those simply considering entering this area of enormous potential, this up-to-the-minute Guide will be of particular interest and value.
