| 14.05.2008: Snap-on Tools, brand leader in tools, tool storage and diagnostic equipment for the automotive market, has announced the appointment of Darren Hawkins as its new Franchise Manager.

In his new role Darren will be responsible for growing the Snap-on network of franchisees to ensure that every UK customer is visited regularly by a Snap-on van. He will also ensure that every franchisee complies with the existing successful Snap-on Tools business format which last year resulted in Snap-on winning the coveted Franchisor of the Year Award sponsored by The Daily Express and HSBC Bank.
Darren joins Snap-on from Furniture Medic, a division of ServiceMaster, where he worked as Operations Manager for three and a half years. In this role he was responsible for running the Furniture Medic network of some 90 franchisees. This involved working closely with the franchise network to fully understand their needs in order to streamline processes and procedures and so help increase overall sales and productivity. He was previously a Strategic Account Controller with National Car Rental.
