| 01.05.2008: Snap-on, world leaders in diagnostic equipment and service solutions for vehicle air conditioning systems, has announced the introduction of its new generation 2008 model top-of-the-range Sun KoolKare Blizzard recycling centre – the Blizzard QTech.
Designed to incorporate all the benefits of today’s latest technology, the 2008 model Sun KoolKare Blizzard QTech is an automatic single-pass recycling system which removes air and moisture from the vehicle air conditioning system and also checks the system for leaks. Changes to KoolKare design have taken into account customer demand. The new Blizzard QTech deals with today’s sophisticated vehicle air conditioning and climate control systems with easy-to-use functions and user-friendly software programmes. These allow the technician to follow a step-by-step sequence to ensure the most complete professional and profitable service procedures.
The 2008 Blizzard QTech has a large high contrast LCD display which makes it even easier to read. It also has a larger SAE2788 compliant automatic 99% gas recovery air purge capability. This means that it is fully in line with all the latest legislation changes and takes into account changes for gas refrigerant handling regulations that are due to come out in 2009.
Significant modifications to the Blizzard QTech are a refrigerant management capability - using operator login code and procedure memory facility – which enables the workshop to demonstrate professional refrigerant handling in preparation for impending F-Gas legislation. A new 22kg refrigerant tank enables the Blizzard QTech equipped workshop to carry on working for longer without the need to change the bottle so often. The new look Blizzard QTech also has a customised design with integral tool tray and a comprehensive, time saving vehicle database - with manual input for new vehicles – as well as a USB communications port for database updates.
A further option now available is a diagnostics module, the Blizzard QTech Diagnostic, which offers a factory fitted and fully integrated diagnostic option to measure High and Low pressure, the workshop ambient temperature, vehicle system temperature, as well as the vehicle compressor on/off status. The diagnostic test results can be printed as a hard copy Customer report and saved as part of the vehicle service history.
“The new 2008 model KoolKare Blizzard QTech has been specifically designed to be as flexible and adaptable as possible while at the same time being potentially very profitable to the UK trade,” says Helen Taylor, UK Marketing Manager of Snap-on Diagnostics. “We are already clear brand leaders in the UK air conditioning service market with more than 35% market share. The 2008 model Blizzard QTech represents another major technological step forward in a sector which continues to offer enormous potential to today’s workshops and garages.”
Editor’s Note: Copies of Snap-on Diagnostics completely updated comprehensive Sun Guide to Air Conditioning are still available.
