| 21 July 2009: Snap-on Tools, brand leader in tools, tool storage and diagnostic equipment for the automotive market, commemorates its unique partnership with the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Formula 1 team by unveiling details of new limited-edition McLarenSport tool box combinations it has produced in conjunction with the team.
As one of Formula 1’s leading competitors, Vodafone McLaren Mercedes places huge demands on precision engineering in its tireless quest for both competitiveness and reliability. Its use of Snap-on Tools enables the outfit to prepare its Grand Prix cars to the very highest standards and ensures a near-flawless reliability record that has set the standard in Formula 1.
“When you assemble and disassemble components as often as the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes race mechanics, you need a set of tools you can really rely on,” says chief mechanic Pete Vale. “And that is exactly what we get from Snap-on: a fantastic range of tools that are not only durable and reliable enough for the toughest of jobs but which also come with fantastic service support and a lifetime guarantee. Quite simply, Snap-on’s tools will not let you down.”
To mark the relationship with McLaren, Snap-on has released these limited-edition tool boxes, featuring stunning graphics of the Team’s 2009 MP4-24 world championship Formula 1 cars. Only 350 of each design have been produced in conjunction with Snap-on’s licensing partnership with McLaren, and each is individually serial-numbered.
“The larger of the two exclusive tool boxes (pictured with Martin Whitmarsh, Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Team Principal – left – and Terry Barcham, Snap-on Tools European Managing Director) is 53” wide,” says Aldo Rodi, UK National Sales Manager for Snap-on Tools. “With stunning designs of this year’s Vodafone McLaren Mercedes MP4-24 Formula 1 car on a classic black box, this will soon become a treasured possession for both our customers and the dedicated Grand Prix fan alike. Twenty-six drawers and over 30,000 cubic inches of storage space also make it very practical. This tool box will be retailing at a special price of £3,150.
“There has been an outstanding demand for the initial limited-edition tool boxes. We are developing a close association with the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Formula 1 Team and are confident through the term of this relationship we will be bringing out more co-branded products signifying our commitment to our new partner, our franchisees and our customers.”
