| 01 December 2009: Snap-on Tools, brand leader in tools, tool storage and diagnostic equipment for the automotive market, commemorates its unique partnership with the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Formula 1 team by unveiling details of a new limited edition McLARENSPORT tool storage combination produced in conjunction with the Team.
As one of Formula 1’s leading competitors, Vodafone McLaren Mercedes places huge demands on precision engineering in its tireless quest for both competitiveness and reliability. Its use of Snap-on Tools enables the organisation to prepare its Grand Prix cars to the very highest standards and ensures a near-flawless reliability record that has set the standard in Formula 1.
To mark the relationship with McLaren, Snap-on has released this limited-edition tool box, featuring stunning graphics of the Team’s 2009 MP4-24 world championship Formula 1 car. “This is our first USA-manufactured and designed McLARENSPORT box,” says Aldo Rodi, UK National Sales Manager for Snap-on Tools. “We are confident that this will soon become a treasured possession for both our customers and the dedicated Grand Prix fan alike. Nineteen drawers and over 39,000 cubic inches of storage space take control of tool inventory to another level.
Our recent developments in paint technology have enabled us to manufacture the combination in a silver paint livery. The wheels for the first time are of a unique custom alloy design. This combination will be retailing at a special price of £4,500 and we are offering a trade-in on old tool boxes of up to £1,000 to make this a very attractive proposition for our customers.
“There has been an outstanding demand for our previous limited edition tool boxes. We are developing a close association with the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Formula 1 Team and are confident through the term of our relationship we will be bringing out more co-branded products signifying our commitment to our new partner, our franchisees and our customers.”
Editors’ Note: Purchasers of the new limited edition tool box will be entered into a draw in which 12 lucky winners will have the chance to accompany their Snap-on Dealer on a visit to the spectacular McLaren Technology Centre near Woking. The visit will take place soon after the new McLaren Mercedes Formula 1 car for the 2010 season has been unveiled.
