| 17 December 2009: Snap-on Tools, brand leader in tools, tool storage and diagnostic equipment for the automotive market has announced the introduction of the latest addition to its power charger range – the quality, durable Portable Power 1700.
“The Portable Power 1700 12v Jump Starter is the serious professional’s answer to jump leads,” says Terry Barcham, European Managing Director of Snap-on. “It has more than enough power to start most vehicles, both petrol and diesel. The robust, chemical resistant casing has brass inserts to secure the leads. The high standard, heavy duty copper cable comes with professional quality crocodile clips to ensure good contact. The charging system has a quick easy-to-read LED energy display as well as a separate charging inlet and cigarette socket power outlet which allows for 12v DC to be taken from the pack whilst being charged.
“The 12v DC power source can be used to run tools, portable TVs and other electrical appliances. Also, by connecting the Pack from cigarette socket to cigarette socket in any vehicle – before disconnecting the main battery – it is possible to work on the vehicle without losing any memory codes or other battery reliant features such as airbag warning lights.
“At Snap-on we pride ourselves on not simply providing the highest quality merchandise but also our ability to predict future market needs and then create the required products in advance of customer demand. Our new Portable Power 1700 is a must for all workshops and their technicians or anybody with the need for a reliable source of portable power and is a perfect example of our ongoing innovation processes.”
